In line with the 25 years of Total Defence (TD) commemoration theme of “What will you defend?”, Nexus commissioned an advertisement featuring 12 Singaporeans from different walks of life, each giving their answer to the question of what they will defend. Indeed, TD is a personal commitment. Regardless of one’s age and achievements, each and every Singaporean has something worth defending here.

Through this outreach, Nexus hopes to encourage everyone to dig deep within themselves and reflect on what it is in Singapore that they hold most dear in life, what it is that they will strive to protect and defend in times of threat or crisis. It may be something connected to their personal passion, closest friends and loved ones. It could be an item of sentimental worth like old photos or a core value such as integrity, honesty or justice. These 12 Singaporeans have stepped forward to share with the nation what they will defend. In doing so, they hope to encourage their fellow Singaporeans to also think about their commitment to themselves and to their country.
